FAQ

Get answers to the questions that matter most.

1.High pH Levels

When pool water pH is too high (alkaline), chlorine is less effective and calcium may precipitate, causing cloudiness.

▲Solution: Adjust pH to the recommended range of 7.2–7.6 and maintain alkalinity balance.

2.High Calcium Hardness

Excess calcium in water can reduce chlorine effectiveness and form scale on pool surfaces, making water appear cloudy.

▲Solution: Monitor calcium hardness, partially replace water or use hardness control chemicals as needed. Avoid adding extra calcium sources unnecessarily.

3.High Cyanuric Acid (CYA) Levels

CYA stabilizes chlorine against sunlight, but too much CYA reduces free chlorine effectiveness, leading to cloudy water.

▲Solution: Test CYA regularly; if above recommended levels, dilute the pool or partially replace water to lower it.

4.Improper Use or Lack of Pool Clarifier

Fine suspended particles may not be removed by the filter after shocking. Clarifiers help aggregate small particles so the filter can capture them.

▲Solution: Add an appropriate pool clarifier and run the filtration system to clear the particles.

5.Filter or Pump Problems

If the pool filter or circulation pump is not functioning properly (e.g., clogged filter, low flow), water circulation and filtration are insufficient, leaving water cloudy.

▲Solution: Clean or replace filter media, ensure the circulation pump is working, and maintain good water flow.

6.Contaminants in the Pool

Environmental debris, sweat, oils, fertilizers, or chemical residues can cause cloudiness, especially after shocking.

▲Solution: Regularly skim debris, vacuum the pool, prevent pollutants from entering, and ensure proper filtration along with appropriate shock dosing.
